ESP Wellness, LLC
As a National Board Certified Health and Well-Being Coach, I help overwhelmed, purpose-driven people find harmony between their desire to make an impact in the world and their need to nourish their own body, mind, and soul so they can live well now and for decades to come.
Elaine Proulx
M.A., NBC-HWC
Elaine was so committed to making an impact in her first career as an educator that she completely neglected herself, working 14-hour days for four years and losing her identity in “Ms. Proulx.” When her dad got sick in 2021, she realized health is built over decades of small decisions, and she needed to make some changes. By recommitting to her physical, mental, and spiritual health, she transformed her lifestyle and reconnected to her purpose. Now, she helps other purpose-driven people find harmony between their desire to make a difference in the world and the need to nourish their own body, mind, and spirit without guilt.
Elaine received her health coach certification from Duke Integrative Health in 2022 and National Board of Health and Well-being Coaches certification in 2024. She also completed a master’s degree in Integrative Health Studies from Maryland University of Integrative Health in 2024. She brings several qualities to coaching that help her clients have profound breakthroughs. She listens more than she speaks. She allows her clients to direct their journey. And she cares deeply for her clients.
Elaine takes a client-centered approach to coaching, believing her clients are the experts on their health and lives. By adopting new exercise routines, improving eating habits, developing mindfulness strategies, clearing out and organizing their physical space, finding community, and more, her clients gain confidence in their ability to transform their lives, and they actually do it! They appreciate her patience, empathy, calm, insight, and active listening.

“I came to Elaine feeling stuck and overwhelmed in multiple areas of my life, not really knowing where to start. Her calming, grounded energy combined with her thoughtful and intentional wellness assessment process helped me figure out where to begin and how to proceed. I now have hope, positivity, and action steps in areas of my life that I thought would always be stuck. It is a transformational experience.” - M.P.
“Before I worked with Elaine, I had so much trouble following through with the goals I set for myself. Elaine helped me break my insurmountable to-do list into small, actionable steps I can take each day, leaving me feeling both more relaxed and more productive! I’ve worked with a health coach before who focused more on exercise and nutrition, which was great, but I love that Elaine also focuses on a more holistic version of health, including sleep, rest, self-care, productivity, and overall satisfaction.“ - C.M.
Lawyer Wellness
Like many professionals, lawyers are experiencing challenges with well-being in the workplace. They are seeing high rates of depression, anxiety, and substance use disorders throughout their careers due to systemic pressures that cause high stress and deplete the internal resources they need to manage it. While many law firms have some sort of wellness initiatives in place, most do not fully address lawyers’ needs around health and well-being. We suggest an evidence-informed approach that includes a combination of educating lawyers about well-being and coaching them to implement practices that support their overall well-being in order to improve mental health outcomes.
PRESENTATION
“Balancing the Scales: Building Well-Being and Resilience into Your Legal Practice” is a hour-long workshop in which participants learn about the eight dimensions of well-being, why it's so important to establish healthy habits for lifelong wellness, and why it's so hard to actually do. Then, they begin to build their internal resources that help them manage stress by identifying and implementing healthy habits specifically for them. We go beyond just diet and exercise and explore all areas of well-being, such as mindful awareness, social support, and sleep. Participants walk away with a plan to get started immediately.
**Presentation may be accredited for CLE.
COACHING
Group coaching packages, one-on-one coaching packages, or a combination, based on your firm’s needs. Examples follow.

Frequently Asked Questions–Lawyer Wellness
Q: Elaine, you don’t have professional experience in law. Why are you working with lawyers?
A: My mother worked in law firm administration for 40 years and my lawyer uncle died from a heart attack at his desk while preparing for a trial at the age of 57. I’ve seen second-hand the impact the stress of the profession has on people and I want to help. When I learned the ABA launched the Well-Being Pledge Campaign in 2017, I decided to focus my master’s degree capstone project on an integrative approach to supporting lawyer well-being through wellness programming and individual and group coaching.
Having worked in the education field where there are also high expectations and stress, I understand the importance of building and maintaining one’s internal resources to cope with the stress of a job healthily and effectively, and I can help lawyers and legal professionals do that as well.
Q: Who can participate?
This presentation is appropriate for all lawyers and staff at law firms. The presentation can be delivered to everyone at once or split into two presentations--one for lawyers and one for staff.
Q: Is one presentation really going to make a difference in my life?
It is a start. To make a lasting difference requires ongoing effort and support. Behavior change is not instantaneous; it happens with small, consistent changes over time.
In this presentation, you will identify areas of your health and well-being that you can improve and create an action plan to better cope with the everyday stresses of working in law. Then, you can sign up for coaching to get support and accountability for long-term behavior change.
Q: How are services delivered?
I can deliver the presentations in-person, virtually, or in a hybrid format across the United States. Coaching services are offered virtually.
Q: Are continuing legal education credits available for the presentation?
I will submit the application for CLE credits at the firm’s request. Additional fee may apply.
Q: How much do the services cost?
Please contact me for pricing and further details. Additional travel fees apply if location is outside Beltway 8 in Houston, TX.
